Venus Tears is a chronicle of meetings and affairs I had with a variety of indescribable cosmic terrors.

I visited with these entities through divination, lucid dreaming, and astral projection to soothe and comfort them in their eternal rage and misery. Each song is about a specific meeting with one of these beings. We hang out, go for drives, do witchcraft, get shit-faced, listen to music, or dance.

It was inspired by cosmic horror, the occult, science fiction, the video games Silent Hill 2, Primal Rage, Bloodborne, Skyrim, the tv series Twin Peaks, Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria remake, the Alien films, A Nightmare on Elm Street, the anime series Sailor Moon and Inuyasha, and a bunch of other stuff.

I composed, recorded, mixed, and mastered it while my boyfriend provided the guitars. I used Garageband on an iPad and Logic on a MacBook. I created the album art using light, reflective materials, and iPad apps.
